Ukotek at RootedCON 2025: Communication and Strategy in Modern Cybersecurity

The recent edition of RootedCONheld from 6 to 8 March 2025 in Madrid, brought together cybersecurity experts to share knowledge and discuss current trends in the sector. On this occasion, Ukotek, in collaboration with its sponsor Picus Securityhad an outstanding participation in the event.

During the congress, Alejandro de Briñas, CEO of Ukotek, moderated the round table entitled "CISOs as Disseminators. This session was attended by prominent CISOs: Daniel Puente Pérez, Enrique Cervantes Mora, Rubén F. and David González González.

The discussion focused on the importance of effective communication in modern cyber security management. Topics covered included

  • tailoring messages to different audiences
  • the preparation of crisis communication plans
  • ethical balance in vulnerability disclosure.

One of the points highlighted was the need to raise awareness of the importance of digital security at all levels of an organisation.

 

During RootedCON 2025, some of the most relevant challenges in cybersecurity were addressed.

One of the most striking messages was how the attacker's limit is his creativity, with tools becoming more and more accessible. to carry out attacks.

Also highlighted was the rise of the Crime as a Service (CaaS) and the scalability of APT groups, which multiplies the risk for companies, especially SMEs within the supply chain.

In addition, the artificial intelligence is a double-edged sword, used both to improve defence and to enhance attacks..

Finally, it was stressed that ignorance does not exempt from risk, underlining the importance of awareness and preparedness for digital threats.
